Careers

Your Future, Your Choice

In July 2022, as part of our commitment to delivering high-quality careers education, Co-op Academy North Manchester was awarded ‘The Quality in Careers Standard’. This is the national quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) in secondary schools, colleges and work-based learning.

We are committed to ensuring that our pupils have the highest aspirations and expectations. We strive to help them develop skills that are needed for the next steps in their journey through life, and are equipped to lead happy and successful lives. We support pupils throughout the key transition points in school, and the transition to Key Stage 5.

You can find further details about the careers programme here.

Our CEIAG provision is reviewed annually and evaluated on a 3 year cycle.

Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Benchmark

Our careers offer is available to all young people in the academy. The careers offer is underpinned by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation’s Benchmark. The programme aids:

Self Development: Throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 we find that our CEIAG Programme enables pupils to understand themselves, their strengths and what  influences them. They are given every opportunity to develop the core competencies and skills necessary to enable them to access the opportunities that are available to them.

Career Exploration: Enabling pupils to investigate the opportunities that are available to them in learning and work. Providing the most up-to-date information about the changing world of work and the labour market.
