On Friday, 6th of March we were delighted to welcome the expert team from Fish for Heroes. They joined us to share their passion for sustainable seafood and professional kitchen skills. Our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering pupils traded their usual utensils for filleting knives, oyster shuckers and fish scalers to learn how the professionals do it.
Wednesday, 4th March was a standout day for Co-op Academy North Manchester. It was World Book Day; a celebration of literacy, creativity, and community. From the quiet contemplation at the outdoor readathon to the vibrant efforts of our staff in the costume contest, the academy was alive with the magic of the written word.

On Wednesday, 10th December, our auditorium was transformed into a festive stage for our annual Winter Celebration Concert. It was a spectacular evening that showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our performing arts pupils.
Our Year 9 pupils recently gained an invaluable insight into the world of creative careers, thanks to an immersive workshop hosted at the UCLan Young Creative Centre. The day focused on the intricate journey a manuscript takes, from initial concept to a published book on the shelves.

A group of nine Year 9 and Year 10 girls recently returned from a transformative five-day residential trip to Jamie's Farm in beautiful Monmouthshire. The initiative, designed to empower pupils to strive both academically and socially, saw the pupils fully immerse themselves in sustainable farm life, stepping away from technology to engage in meaningful, hands-on experiences.

The English Department recently ran a Halloween Competition that concluded with a chilling display of pupil talent, as they put their descriptive writing skills, honed during the recent 'gothic stories' topic, to the test. Tasked with crafting their own spooky tale or poem under the evocative title "Shadows," pupils delivered entries that were both atmospheric and unnerving.
On Wednesday, 24th September 2025 our Year 11 pupils had a fantastic opportunity to explore their future pathways at the annual Post-16 Careers Carousel. The event, a key part of our academy's Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance (CEIAG) program, saw nine post-16 providers visit the academy to showcase the diverse range of opportunities available after graduation.
