A Night of Musical Magic: Winter Celebration Concert 2025

On Wednesday, 10th December, our auditorium was transformed into a festive stage for our annual Winter Celebration Concert. It was a spectacular evening that showcased the incredible talent and dedication of our performing arts pupils.

A Warm Welcome

The festive atmosphere began the moment guests stepped through the doors. Our school carol singers filled the main canteen with traditional harmonies, providing a beautiful backdrop as families and friends arrived.

Rhythm and Energy

The main event kicked off with a vibrant energy boost from our Steel Pan bands. With impressive performances from Year 7, 8 and 10 the tropical sounds of the pans brought a unique and joyful twist to the evening.

Stellar Solos and Rock Anthems

The audience was treated to three breath-taking solo performances that showcased the vocal range of our pupils:

  • Olivia H (Year 8) captivated the room with her poise and talent as she sang ‘When I Grow Up’ from Matilda JR.

  • Nakaaya B (Year 10) delivered a powerful and moving performance of ‘As Long As He Needs Me’ from Oliver JR.

  • Amira A (Year 10) wowed the crowd with her stage presence and skill as she performed ‘Voilà’ by Barbara Pravi.

The energy shifted up a gear as our bands took to the stage. The Jammie Dodgers got everyone moving with a high-octane rendition of 'Livin’ on a Prayer', followed by the Rock Band, who channelled classic rock vibes with 'Come Together' and 'Purple Haze'.

"I am incredibly proud of every single pupil who took part. From the intricate rhythms of the steel pans to the powerful vocal solos, the level of talent on display was truly outstanding. Seeing the pupils support one another is exactly what the performing arts are all about, bringing people together."

Matt Asher, Head of Performing Arts

Big Band and Choral Classics

Our Big Band brought the "wow" factor with a set list of crowd-pleasers, including 'Gimme Some Lovin’ and 'Don’t Stop Believing', before leading us into the holiday spirit with 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town'.

The School Choir then took centre stage for a series of emotive performances. Their versions of 'Unwritten', 'In The Stars', and the hauntingly beautiful 'Somewhere Only We Know' left many in the audience visibly moved.

Thank you to all the staff, pupils and parents who made this evening such a resounding success!
