This year has been an incredible one for Co-op Academy North Manchester, with pupils enjoying a wide range of exciting opportunities and experiences with the continued support of the Manchester United Foundation.
Here are some of the highlights so far:
As part of the nation’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign, The Great British Spring Clean, staff and pupil volunteers from Co-op Academy North Manchester came together to make a difference in our local community. This annual event highlights the importance of keeping our surroundings clean, green and sustainable, and this year, our academy embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and pride.
I am both excited and honoured to introduce myself as the new Principal at Co-op Academy North Manchester, starting after the Easter holidays. I feel incredibly privileged to have been appointed to lead this strong and vibrant academy, and I am looking forward to working closely with you and the entire school community to continue to provide the best possible experience for our students.
A little bit about myself – as a senior leader in education, I have extensive knowledge of leading thriving schools, having worked at a range of schools across Greater Manchester and Derbyshire. I believe that every child deserves to feel valued, supported and inspired, and I will do my utmost to ensure that students at Co-op Academy North Manchester receive a caring, inclusive and progressive education that is second to none.
In my most recent role as Vice Principal at Co-op Academy Walkden, I have had success by keeping the Co-op Values at the heart of everything that I do. Our values of Integrity, Openness, Honesty, and Care are not just words on a wall; they shape how we interact with each other and how we work together to create a positive and inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
My vision for Co-op Academy North Manchester is simple but ambitious – to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed socially, emotionally and academically. I believe that education goes beyond the classroom; it’s about character building, developing resilience, and helping every child to discover their purpose and passions – and key to this vision is a close partnership with you, our parents and carers.
I will always welcome your ideas, feedback and support as we work together in the interests of our students and going forwards, I will keep you informed and updated weekly through our new NOMA Newsletter. I encourage you to be part of our journey so please do not hesitate to get in touch via the usual email address: noma-enquiries@coopacademies.co.uk and I look forward to meeting you and working alongside you for many years to come.
Yours sincerely,
Tabitha Sloper-Russell
Principal (designate)
