After completing my PE and Sports Science degree at University of Chester, I moved to Cardiff to complete my PGCE at University of Wales, Cardiff. Following this, I got my first teaching post at what is now known as Co-op Academy Failsworth. As soon as I started to teach there, I thoroughly enjoyed my role as a form tutor and knew that I wanted to follow a pastoral route in my career. When I got the opportunity to move to Co-op Academy North Manchester as a Head of Year, I jumped at the chance. I relished the opportunity to lead on the pastoral care for my year group, working with them and their families and watching them flourish. I became Assistant Vice Principal for Safeguarding in 2023. It's a role that I fully embrace. To care for, and support all pupils in school encompasses all the skills that I have developed and roles that I have previously held. I am proud of the work that the team does here within the school and our community to make our young people feel safe and secure.
