Co-op Academy North Manchester Welcomes the Class of 2030 for Transition Week

This week, Co-op Academy North Manchester proudly welcomed its newest cohort, the Class of 2030, as part of our annual Transition Week.
Over the course of the week, Year 6 pupils from across the city got a taste of life at secondary school. From exploring our facilities to meeting their future classmates and teachers, the week was packed with exciting activities designed to help ease the move from primary to secondary education.
Pupils took part in a variety of engaging lessons across subjects like English, Art, Food Technology, ICT, Science, and PE, giving them a real feel for the breadth of learning and opportunities available at the academy. They also enjoyed team-building exercises, school tours, and sessions that introduced them to the Co-op values at the heart of our academy culture.
A highlight of the week was a special visit from Kimberly Whittam, author of ‘A Quiet Storm’, who hosted an inspiring and interactive session with the pupils. Our new Year 7s were captivated by her journey as a writer and had the opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and explore the power of storytelling. It was a fantastic moment that truly brought the magic of reading and creativity to life.
Mrs Fiddler, Vice Principal, Inclusion and Personal Development added, “Transition Week is one of the most important weeks in our calendar. It helps our new pupils build confidence, make friends and begin to feel part of our academy community. We’ve loved getting to know them and we can’t wait to see them thrive in Year 7.”
As the week came to a close, smiles, laughter, and excitement filled the corridors, proof that the Class of 2030 is already off to a fantastic start.
We look forward to welcoming them back in September as fully-fledged members of the Co-op Academy North Manchester family!
