Pastoral Manager

The Pastoral Manager is a key position within the academy, responsible for the personal development and welfare of all pupils within their year group so that every child can leave the academy equipped to lead a happy and successful life.  As Pastoral Manager, you will be a highly motivated, organised and flexible individual who can enable pupils to maintain excellent learning habits and high levels of independence and resilience.

The successful candidates will possess excellent leadership, management and communication skills and will have demonstrated an ability to work with young people and their families successfully. They will be aware of some of the challenges facing young people yet hold the highest aspirations for Co-op North Manchester’s pupils. They will also be committed to and use strategies that will ensure that all pupils are given the very best opportunities to be successful in all areas of their lives.

We are looking for Pastoral Managers with experience of working with young people to secure excellent outcomes and who are able to develop and sustain strong routines, inspire pupils to engage widely across school. They will ensure all pupils engage strongly in extra-curricular activities and develop a range of leadership roles within their year groups who maintain the highest standards at all times.

Each year group has a Pastoral Manager and a Head of Year and a group of form tutors.  There is a Designated Safeguarding Lead and three Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads plus an attendance officer to support the year teams.

Co-op Academy North Manchester offers high quality CPD for its staff alongside a Co-op benefits package.  It is expected that the successful candidate will be committed to their own continuing professional development and also take opportunities to continue to develop others. The academy has an Associate Staff Lead for CPD and offers bespoke training as well as opportunities across Co-op Academies Trust. 

The academy is part of the Co-op Academies Trust, and it is therefore expected that the successful candidate will be committed to both the vision and values of the academy and then demonstrating these within their role and committed to demonstrating a responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
