Design Technology

Design technology at the Co-op Academy North Manchester is more than a practical subject. The knowledge gained from learning the subject allows pupils to understand how the world around them has been created. Design technology is the process of inventing or improving things to satisfy practical needs and solve practical problems.

A high quality technology education at Co-op Academy North Manchester will help our pupils gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of the technologies being used and developed in industrial settings. It will inspire our pupils’ curiosity and aid in innovation in the design, development and manufacture of unique, creative, edible  and functional products.

Through our teaching, scenarios and community cohesion we will equip our pupils to analyse, think critically and develop design ideas based on their own interpretations with no boundaries, to create innovative design concepts. Technology at the Co-op Academy North Manchester will help our pupils understand the complexities of user needs and overcome the challenges within the world of product design development.
